Description

Facing History and Ourselves is a nonprofit international educational and professional development organization. Our mission is to engage students of diverse backgrounds in an examination of racism, prejudice, and antisemitism in order to promote the development of a more humane and informed citizenry. By studying the historical development of the Holocaust and other examples of genocide, students make the essential connection between history and the moral choices they confront in their own lives.

Our footprint is global. Facing History’s staff members work in 10 locations, from Chicago, Cleveland, and Denver, to London, Los Angeles, Memphis, New England, New York, Toronto, and the San Francisco Bay Area. We have educational partnerships around the world, including China, France, Northern Ireland, and South Africa. No matter where you live, Facing History is here to help, both in-person and online. We work with teachers, students, and communities everywhere, through online professional development, international events, and our free library of classroom resources.
