Description

Our Learning & Leadership Grants support National Education Association (NEA) members who are public school teachers, public education support professionals, and/or faculty and staff in public institutions of higher education for one of the following two purposes:

  • Grants to individuals fund participation in high-quality professional development experiences, such as summer institutes, conferences, or action research

  • Grants to groups fund collegial study, including study groups, action research, lesson plan development, or mentoring experiences for faculty or staff.

Applications may be submitted at any time. Applicants are encouraged to plan ahead. Grants will fund activities for twelve months from the date of the award. Applications are reviewed three times per year, every year.

Applicant Qualifications

Applicants must be NEA members who are practicing:

  • Public school educators in grades PreK–12;
  • Public school education support professionals, or;
  • Faculty and staff at public higher education institutions.

Funding preference will be given to projects that incorporate school farming, aquaponics, global learning, and/or the NEA Foundation’s online courses. The NEA Foundation also strongly encourages Education Support Professionals to apply for funding in any area.
